Hello, I am Teodora and I am a self-taught artist with a passion for visual arts and poetry. I started to draw and paint when I was little and at 13 I had my own fashion drawing collection that I was very proud of. Although I never followed a formal art education, between 2003 and 2004 I took a course in Decorative Art where I had the chance to learn some techniques to create abstract and decorative paintings by playing with shapes and colours.

My art is abstract, decorative or free style and I seldom plan my paintings beforehand. I start by creating a background using the palette knife or various materials such as newspaper cuts, fabric or paper tissues and then I create the paintings using my imagination, my personal interpretation of the world around me or the notes and sketches I make on my walks. I paint mainly in acrylic as I like the thickness of it, but I also use oil, ink and cryons. To me, any form of art is a cathartic experience which spiritually enriches the mind and the soul of the viewer. If my art has this effect on viewers, my role as an artist is accomplished.
